D.W.S was established 25 years ago by our M.D., who was
then a Menswear Designer, primarily to support and work with the crème of the
crop of British Fashion Designers. Over
the years as we have expanded to become this Country’s Leading Designer Sale we
have incorporated the very best International Designers so we are now carry a veritable ‘who’s
who’ in fashion. However our first
love will always be talented British
designers, and there are a whole world of them out there that we plan to
bring to you.
A few years back we ‘discovered’ DANIEL BLAKE an ex
graduate from Kingston University who cut his (fashion) teeth working for SARA
STURGEON (which we carried big time for years) and MAX MARA before he broke out on his
own. By the time we came across him he
was already a rising star in Stores like LIBERTY and so when we had one his first collections at D.W.S. we literally sold out ever single piece.
Daniel describes his clothing as “timeless, investment pieces”, and the
type of women who currently wear his clothes, as ranging from urban high flyers
to contemporary artisans. He explains, “The cut, quality and workmanship of my pieces means that
women of a certain 'style' would be attracted to wearing the collection.'' We
agree with him that these are 'investment pieces' that we believe a diversity
of women would want for themselves.
We are overjoyed to have him back with us at this September Womenswear Sale …. Be
warned however, it is a Sample Collection of One-Off Original Pieces and it will sell
out fast. And think of this too, they are All Made in Britain!
