DIANE VREELAND : THE EYE HAS TO TRAVEL

Our MD is something of a film buff and he got a sneak preview of a wonderful new documentary on an awe-inspiring women : the late and very great DIANE VREELAND.  Yes there were fashion magazine giants way before Anna Wintour,  and the finest of these was the inimitable Ms Vreeland who edited first HARPERS BAZAAR and then VOGUE in the glorious  days of couture. She was the woman who discovered Lauren Bacall, advised Jackie Kennedy, celebrated Twiggy.  The film got together a who's-who of designers (Givenchy, Oscar de la Renta, Manolo Blahnik), models (Veruschka, Polly Tree, China Machado) and photographers (David Bailey, Richard Avedon, Lillian Bassman) who enthusiastically testify to Vreeland's perfectionism and her finite sense of style.

A great tribute to a true first lady of fashion.  Watch this space cos we will be the first to tell you when it finally gets released.
